A .pptx file is really a zip archive containing an XML description of every slide — text boxes, images, and their positions. This tool unzips the file locally, reads that XML, and redraws each slide's text and images at their original position and relative size, scaled to fit your screen. Both the reading and the rendering happen entirely in your browser.
This is the right tool when you need to quickly check what's on a set of slides — the text and images are all there, roughly where they were placed. It's not a substitute for opening the file in PowerPoint or Google Slides if you need to review exact formatting, fonts, or design details.
No — .ppt (used by PowerPoint 97-2003) is a completely different binary file format, not a zipped XML format like .pptx. This tool only reads .pptx files. If you have an old .ppt file, you'll need to open and re-save it as .pptx in PowerPoint or a similar app first.

This tool shows your slide's text and images at their approximate position and size, which is enough to quickly review content — but it doesn't reproduce exact fonts, background designs, shape fills and borders, transitions, or animations. For a pixel-perfect view, open the file in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
