What this tool actually checks

Most "AI detector" tools hand back a single confidence percentage. We don't, on purpose — none of the signals below have been calibrated against a labeled dataset, so a manufactured number would imply precision that doesn't exist. Instead, results are split into two honest tiers.

Verifiable facts

C2PA content-credential manifests and the open IPTC "digital source type" metadata field are things a file either contains or doesn't — read directly from the bytes, not inferred. If found, that's a real, literal claim embedded by the tool that made or edited the file. If absent, that proves nothing on its own, since most files never carry this data and it's trivially removed by re-saving.

Statistical indicators

Sentence rhythm, lexical diversity, stock phrasing, pixel noise, and audio dynamics are all correlates of typical AI output, not fingerprints of the generation process. Any single one — or several together — can occur naturally in human-made content, and can be absent from AI-made content that's been lightly edited or re-processed. Treat these as prompts for closer judgment, never as a verdict.

Why there's no percentage score

A 0–100% score would be arithmetic on hand-picked weights, dressed up to look like a statistic. Real AI detection with meaningful confidence numbers requires a model trained and validated against labeled data — something no client-side, browser-only tool can do. We'd rather tell you what we actually found than manufacture a number that implies more than it knows.

No. It surfaces two kinds of evidence: verifiable provenance markers (when present, these are facts) and weak statistical indicators (which are correlational, not diagnostic). Neither tier is proof on its own, and the tool is explicit about that in every result.

A percentage implies a calibrated probability that this tool doesn't have. None of the heuristics here have been validated against a labeled dataset of known AI versus human content, so a manufactured score would be misleading rather than informative.

Re-saving through any app strips embedded metadata and regenerates pixel/audio statistics based on the new tool's own export pipeline — not the original generator. This is a structural limit of after-the-fact file analysis, true for any detector, not just this one.
