How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Add your HEIC photo. Choose it or drop it onto the converter. Files ending in .heic or .heif both work.
  2. Set options (optional). You can adjust the JPG quality or resize in Options.
  3. Click Convert and download your JPG.

What is HEIC, and why won't it open?

HEIC is the format iPhones and iPads use for photos by default. It stores the same picture in about half the space of a JPG, which is why Apple chose it. The catch is compatibility: many Windows computers, older Android phones, websites and upload forms can't open HEIC files. Converting to JPG gives you a photo that works everywhere. How your photos are handled

Unlike most of our tools, HEIC can't be decoded reliably inside a browser, so these conversions are done on our server. Your photo is sent over an encrypted connection, converted, returned to you, and deleted as soon as the job finishes. You get 5 free HEIC conversions per day with no signup needed; Pro removes the daily limit and adds batches.

Stop shooting in HEIC (if you'd rather)

You can have your iPhone take JPG photos from now on. Open Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. The trade-off is larger files, since JPG takes more space than HEIC. Photos you've already taken stay as HEIC, which is where this converter helps.
