What fees does Amazon India charge?
Usually a referral fee (a % of the price, by category — 0% for items up to ₹1,000 in 1,800+ categories since 16 March 2026), a closing fee (a fixed amount by price band and channel), and shipping/weight handling for Easy Ship and FBA, plus pick & pack and storage for FBA. Amazon adds 18% GST to all its fees.
Is the referral fee really zero under ₹1,000?
For most categories, yes — Amazon announced 0% referral fees for products priced up to ₹1,000 in over 1,800 categories from 16 March 2026. Some categories (for example mobiles and laptops) still have a referral fee, so check your category's rate.
What are TCS and TDS?
Amazon holds back 0.5% TCS (under GST) and 0.1% TDS (under income tax) on your sales. They aren't costs — you can claim them back in your GST return and income tax return — but they reduce the money paid out each settlement.
Why does the GST on my sale count against profit?
The price a customer pays includes GST, which you pass to the government. The calculator removes it so your profit is the real money you keep.
