Frequently asked questions
What does the audit check?
Broken pages and links, missing or duplicate titles and meta descriptions, titles that get cut off, missing or multiple H1 headings, pages hidden with noindex, thin pages, images without alt text, slow pages, canonical links, redirects, mobile viewport, page language, social sharing tags and structured data — across every page we read.
Is it really free?
Yes — up to 25 pages, with no account. For a bigger site, a whole-site crawl of up to 300 pages needs a free account and costs 10 credits. If your site turns out to have 25 pages or fewer, the credits are refunded automatically.
How does it read my site?
It starts at the address you enter and follows your site's own links, like a search engine. It respects your robots.txt, only visits your website (never other sites), and reads two pages at a time so your server isn't strained.
Why are some pages missing?
We only find pages your site links to. Pages blocked in robots.txt are skipped, and the free check stops at 25 pages. Content that appears only after JavaScript runs may not be seen.
What does the score mean?
It summarises how many of your pages are affected by each problem, with errors counting most. Fix the errors first, then the warnings — tips are nice-to-haves.
Do you store my website's data?
No. Pages are read only to make your report, which is built in your browser. Nothing is saved after you leave the page.
How to audit your website
- Enter your home page and press Audit site. The free check reads up to 25 pages; sign in for up to 300.
- Fix the errors first. Broken pages, missing titles and duplicate titles have the biggest effect.
- Then the warnings — missing descriptions, thin pages, images without alt text, slow pages.
- Run it again after your changes to see the score rise.
What matters most
- Unique titles and descriptions: they are what people see in Google, so they decide whether you get the click.
- No dead ends: every broken link wastes a visitor and a search engine visit.
- Enough useful text: a product page with one line of text rarely ranks. Add details, sizes, materials and answers to common questions.
- Links between your pages: pages nothing links to are hard for Google to find and rank. Use the Internal Link Planner to fix that.
