Frequently asked questions

Will it work on any PDF?

It works on PDFs that contain real text — most PDFs created by software. Scanned PDFs are pictures of pages; run them through OCR PDF first.

Are numbers kept as numbers?

Yes, when “Turn numbers into real numbers” is ticked — amounts with commas, currency symbols or brackets for negatives are converted so you can add them up.

What about text that isn't a table?

Headings and notes come across as their own rows, so you can delete what you don't need.

Does it handle Indian number format like 1,25,000?

Yes — the commas are removed and the value is kept as a number.

How to convert a PDF to Excel

  1. Select or drop your PDF. The preview shows the rows and columns found on each page — use ‹ › to check other pages.
  2. Choose one sheet per page, or everything on one sheet.
  3. Press Convert to Excel and open the .xlsx in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice.

Getting the best result

  • PDFs exported from software (accounting reports, price lists, invoices) convert best — their text sits in clear columns.
  • Numbers such as 1,25,000.00 or (450) become real numbers, so totals and formulas work straight away.
  • If two columns merge, check the preview: very tightly spaced tables may need a small fix in Excel.
  • For bank statements, Bank Statement to Excel understands dates, debits, credits and balances.

Is it private?

Tables are read in your browser — the PDF and spreadsheet never leave your device.
