Standard is free and runs entirely in your browser, but reads English only. AI OCR is more accurate, reads 90+ languages including Hindi, and gives you Word and text files as well as a searchable PDF. It costs 1 credit per page, and your pages are sent to our AI provider to be read.
Which languages does AI OCR read?
More than 90, including English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Arabic, Russian, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. In the searchable PDF, the search layer supports Latin, Cyrillic, Greek and the ten Indian scripts above; text in other scripts is included in the text and Word files.
How much does AI OCR cost?
1 credit per page, up to 30 pages at a time. Everyone gets 4 free credits a day with no account needed (4 pages), and credit packs, which need a free account, start at ₹199 ($2) for 300 pages and never expire. If a document can't be read, its credits are refunded automatically.
Is my PDF kept?
With Standard OCR nothing ever leaves your device. With AI OCR, your pages are sent to our server and an AI model to be read, and are deleted as soon as the result is ready. See our Privacy Policy.
Can it read handwriting or photos of documents?
AI OCR is built for printed or typed text; handwriting results vary. Clear, straight, well-lit scans work best. To read a single photo or screenshot, use Image to Text.
My scan is blurry — can I sharpen it before OCR?

AI OCR handles up to 30 pages per run. Use Split PDF to cut it into parts, then run each part. Standard OCR has no page limit but is slower on long documents.
