Frequently asked questions

Is this GST invoice valid?

It includes everything a tax invoice needs under the GST rules: your name, address and GSTIN, a unique invoice number and date, the customer's details (and GSTIN for B2B), place of supply, HSN/SAC codes, taxable value, GST rate and amount split into CGST + SGST or IGST, the total, and a signature. You're responsible for the details you enter being correct.

When is it CGST + SGST and when is it IGST?

If your business and the place of supply are in the same state, the tax is split equally into CGST and SGST. If they're in different states, it's IGST. The tool decides automatically from the states you choose (or the GSTINs you type).

Which GST rates are included?

The current rates — 0%, 0.25%, 3%, 5%, 18% and 40% — plus the old 12% and 28% rates for invoices that still need them.

I'm not registered for GST. Can I still use it?

Yes. Leave your GSTIN empty and set the items to 0% — the document is titled 'Invoice' instead of 'Tax Invoice'.

Do my details get saved?

If 'Remember my business details' is ticked, your business details, logo, bank details and the next invoice number are saved in this browser on this device — never on our server. Untick it on a shared computer.

How does the UPI QR code work?

Enter your UPI ID and the invoice gets a 'Scan to pay' QR code with the exact total and invoice number filled in. Your customer scans it with any UPI app and the money goes straight to your bank account.
