Work out CGPA from semester SGPAs (optional)

Results are rounded to 2 decimals. Always use the formula printed on your grade card or your university's official rules — forms and employers ask for that figure.

Frequently asked questions

What is the formula?

CBSE gave Class 10 results as CGPA until 2017 and published the rule itself: multiply your CGPA by 9.5. A CGPA of 9.0 is 85.5%.

Is there one formula for every university?

No. Each university or board sets its own rule — common ones are CGPA × 10, CGPA × 9.5, (CGPA − 0.5) × 10 and (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. That's why the same CGPA can be a different percentage at different universities.

How do I get CGPA from SGPA?

Add up SGPA × credits for each semester and divide by the total credits. If you don't know the credits, a simple average of your SGPAs is a close estimate. Enter them above and the calculator does both.

Which percentage should I write in a job or exam form?

Write the percentage your university officially gives (often printed on the final mark sheet or available as a conversion certificate). If the form asks you to convert yourself, use your university's own formula and keep a copy of the rule.

Can I convert a percentage back to CGPA?

Yes — type the percentage in the second box and the calculator reverses your university's formula.

How CBSE to percentage conversion works

Universities that grade on a 10-point scale publish their own rule to turn a CGPA into a percentage. Employers, banks, and exam forms like GATE, CAT and government jobs often ask for the percentage, so it's worth using the official rule rather than a rough guess.
