Frequently asked questions
How do I crop to an exact size?
Choose a size (or Custom and type the pixels), then drag the picture inside the frame and use the zoom slider until it looks right. The download is exactly that many pixels.
What's the difference between crop and fit?
“Fill the frame” crops the edges so the picture covers the whole size. “Show the whole image” keeps everything and fills the empty space with a colour — handy for logos and products.
Will cropping reduce quality?
No — the picture is redrawn at full quality. If the size you choose is bigger than your photo, it has to be enlarged, and we warn you when that might look soft.
Can I keep a transparent background?
Yes — choose PNG with “Show the whole image” and the empty space stays transparent.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Cropping happens entirely in your browser.
