Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes — free, no sign-up and no watermark.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is compressed entirely in your browser, on your own device. It never reaches our server.
How does it get my PDF under 100 KB?
First it tries a lossless squeeze. If that isn't enough, each page is saved as a sharp image and the quality is tuned automatically so the file lands just under your size — as clear as that size allows.
Will the text still be selectable?
If a lossless squeeze is enough, yes. If pages had to be saved as images to reach a small size, the text can't be selected, but it looks the same — which is fine for form uploads.
Is 1 KB 1000 or 1024 bytes?
We use 1 KB = 1024 bytes, the same as Windows and most upload portals, so a file we make under 200 KB will be accepted by a portal with a 200 KB limit.
It says the size is too small — what can I do?
Very small sizes can't hold many pages. Try black & white, remove pages you don't need with Split PDF, or choose a bigger size.
Make a PDF exactly the size a form asks for
Government portals, exam forms, job sites and banks often reject documents over 100 KB. Choose your PDF, pick the size, and download a file that's just under it — clear enough to read and small enough to upload.
Tips
- Scanned documents (Aadhaar, mark sheets, certificates) shrink much further in black & white.
- Many pages? Upload only the pages asked for — use Split PDF.
- Photos instead of a PDF? Turn them into one with JPG to PDF, then compress it here.
