Frequently asked questions

How many domains can I check?

Up to 200 per check, and up to 3 checks an hour. Paste them one per line or separated by commas, or upload a .txt or .csv file — we pick out the domains and skip duplicates.

Why is there a robot check?

Each lookup asks the official registries, which limit how often they can be asked. The quick Cloudflare check stops bots from overusing the tool, so it stays fast and free for everyone. Most people won't even see it.

Where does the data come from?

From each extension's official registry, using RDAP — the modern replacement for WHOIS — or the registry's WHOIS service where RDAP isn't available yet. Results are cached for up to a week to keep things fast.

What does 'Couldn't check' mean?

The registry didn't answer in time or is limiting requests. Open that domain on its own in the Domain Age Checker, or run it again later.

Can I use the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. The CSV opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers, with columns for age in words and in years, registration and expiry dates, days until expiry, registrar and name servers.

Check the age of many domains at once

Useful when you're comparing link-building prospects, auditing a client's domain portfolio, researching expired-domain lists or keeping an eye on renewals across your own brands.

How to use it

  • Paste your list, or upload a .txt or .csv file — full web addresses work too.
  • Press Check domains. Results appear in batches as they come in.
  • Sort by age or expiry, filter for domains expiring in the next 90 days or not registered, then download the CSV.
