Privacy Policy — CartBack

CartBack ("the app", "we", "us") is a Shopify app by Quikbench Software that detects abandoned checkouts and sends recovery emails on behalf of the merchant who installs it. This policy explains what data the app accesses, why, and how it is handled.

Data the app accesses

When a merchant installs CartBack, the app can access the following data from their Shopify store:

• Customer information from abandoned checkouts: email address and phone number, and device and activity data such as approximate location, IP address, browser and operating system.
• Store owner information: name, email address, phone number and address.
• Store data: products and collections, orders from the last 60 days, the checkout page, custom data (metaobjects) and files.

How the data is used

• To detect abandoned checkouts and send the recovery email sequence the merchant has configured.
• To show the customer's cart contents, totals and discount codes inside those emails.
• To recognise when an abandoned checkout turns into an order, so recovery emails stop and results can be measured.
• To show the merchant analytics such as recovery rate and revenue recovered.
• To store the merchant's email designs, settings and images, and to contact the merchant about their account.

We do not sell customer or store data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

CartBack uses trusted providers to run: a cloud hosting provider for the app and its database, and an email delivery provider to send recovery emails. They process data only to provide these services.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept only as long as needed to provide the service while the app is installed. When a merchant uninstalls CartBack, or when Shopify sends a customer or shop data-deletion request, the related data is deleted in line with Shopify's data protection requirements.

Your rights

Merchants can request details of the data we hold, or its deletion, at any time. Shoppers who received a recovery email can unsubscribe using the link in the email, or contact the store they shopped with, who can ask us to delete their data.
